About Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Cybersecurity Awareness Month (CAM) — observed in October — was created as a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure each person has the resources they need to stay safer and more secure online. CAM is sponsored by the National Cybersecurity Alliance and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA).
Each October, the U's Information Security Office (ISO) highlights the ways in which internet-connected devices have impacted our lives and provides the information and resources to empower users to own their role in protecting their part of cyberspace. The monthlong campaign focuses on different topics that address specific challenges and identifies opportunities for behavioral change.
If everyone at the U does their part — implementing stronger security practices, raising community awareness, educating students, or training employees — our interconnected world will be safer and more resilient for everyone.
